The first matter that some couples find themselves wrestling with is whether to pay the price for a professional photographer or to ask a friend or family member who “has a good camera”. Many people have good cameras but taking good pictures is a skill. Think beyond the wedding day to 20- 30- 40 years in the future when all you have to help you re-live that day are the photos or videos. Blurry, irrelevant or long-distance shots are not going to be enjoyed (trust me – that is what we live with! Seemed like a good decision at the time). Search around for the price you can live with and a photographer with a personality you can live with, too. There are a variety of options, and each photographer is unique, so listen carefully to what the photographers you interview are offering.
Your friend or relative may have taken some great photos and you are impressed with their work, but, at your wedding, they may be caught up in the moment and not capture it on film. The professional photographer is experiencing life at that moment through the lens and they get unique shots at the ceremony and at the reception. Then they go through the hundreds of photos and give you something manageable to work with.
“This kiss is captured forever! Remember the moments with your photos that are processed to last.”
